What sport will give your mind and body a workout while letting you enjoy the excitement of head-to-head competition, all in the time that it takes to watch the first half of a football game? There's only one, and that is tennis.

A great social outlet, not to mention an all around workout, burning an average 493 calories an hour, tennis is where fun and fitness meet. The abdominal muscles and legs are involved in every stroke in the game! This is why so many adults are returning to the sport or picking it up for the first time. Whether you play with your friends once a week, in a league, or with your family, tennis provides a time-efficient, enjoyable way to get in shape and keep up with the people in your life and community.

There is also no better activity to help you stay healthy. Tennis is ranked #1 for heart care in America by US News and World Report.

Meet the Pros

 Head Pro Michael Turner:

Michael has been playing tennis since he was 11 years old. Michael was #1 and #2 in the state ranking in 16 and 18 as a junior player. He was also top 20 in the Southern Section! Michael attended Midwestern state as a tennis player. Michael has had many accomplishments, but what says the most about him is the accomplishments of his athletes. Michael has been coaching full-time for 18 years and been at the club since 2002. Michael’s passion for the sport is exemplified when he coaches others. His kind spirit and knowledge of the game really makes you love tennis too.

 Assistant Pro Miko Caruk:
Miko grew up playing tennis in one of the most prestigious academies in Poland. He started coaching at an early age of 16. As a junior player he was ranked #4 in Under16 and #5 in Under18. Miko attended the University of Montana and had many achievements while playing, one being a first in school history to make an NCAA tournament appearance. Miko has a huge heart for not only the sport, but for coaching others. In the few years Miko has been here at the club his teaching abilities has grown immensely and he is beloved by all members.

 Assistant Pro Ben Albers:

Ben is one of our newer pros, he has been here for about 7 months and has already made such an impact on our tennis program. Ben is 10 and under certified and truly has a knack for coaching the junior tennis players here in Wichita Falls. The kids love him! Ben graduated from tennis tech program at Tyler junior college. He also played #1 doubles and #3 singles as a freshman at Letourneau University, as well was a state finalist in doubles in high school. Before coming to the club Ben coached in Vancouver for two years as the head pro at a tennis center.

Assistant Pro Chase Curry: Chase is our goofball pro, but don’t take his silliness for weakness because even at a young age Chase has some incredible achievements under his belt. Chase trained at St. Stephens Episcopal Boarding School in Austin. He was even invited to some USTA Development camps in New York. He held the ranking for #1 in the state of Texas in both singles and doubles for 16’s and 18’s. He was even ranked #1 in the nation in boys doubles. These are only a few of his accomplishments, but now he spends his days pouring is expertise into our juniors and members here at the country club.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new pro Ale Enderica.
Her resume compliments her brightly and we can’t wait for her to get started.
